A drinking water advisory has been issued by Medical Officer of Health Dr. Catherine Whiting for all residents and properties on and north of Carmichael Drive including Littledown LAnd and Airport Road east of Carmichael. This area includes all of CFB North Bay and the Jack Garland Airport.

Only people serviced by the municipal water system in this area are affected.

The advisory is due to a loss of pressure.
Until further notice water from the tap should not be used for drinking or brushing teeth.

All other North Bay residents on city water may use tap water as usual.

Pressure is being restored and the system will be flushed over the next 24 hours.

This may cause some discolouration of the water.

The health unit expects normal water consumption will be possible within 72 hours, based on laboratory testing.

Dr. Whiting will notify the media when the drinking water advisory has been lifted.

A media conference has been called for 1 p.m.
