(Sudbury, Ontario) - Members of the Sudbury and Espanola Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police, with the assistance of a technical traffic collision investigator, are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred Saturday at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The collision took place on Highway 6 in Merritt Township.

A southbound motor vehicle was being driven by Kathy Love, 50, of Sudbury.

She had her son Brody Love, 25, as a passenger.

The vehicle went out of control and entered the northbound lane of the highway where it collided with a pickup truck being driven by Harold Frost, 55 years, of Little Current.

Both Kathy and Brody Love did not survive the collision.

Mr. Frost and his passenger Rachel Howell, 52 years, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision.

Weather and road conditions at the time of the collision were poor.

The investigation into this collision is ongoing at this time.

The highway was closed from the time of the collision until approximately 7 p.m. when it was reopened to traffic.
