Diocese says it didn't publish religious booklet

The Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie says it has nothing to do with religion-themed booklet being distributed in North Bay.

Rev. Anthony Man-Son-Hing said Diocese parishes in the city have been hearing from parishioners who have received the booklet, entitled Be Careful of Protestant Teachings.

The booklet, Rev. Man-Son-Hing said, contains a series of tracts “which seem to be explanations to faith-related things.”

“Our parishioners called wanting to know if this booklet was being published by the church and I want to categorically let them know it’s not,” Rev. Man-Son-Hing said.

He believes the Seventh Day Adventist Church is publishing the booklet.

“Beyond that the origin of this document is unknown to us and in no way should it be understood to have any connection to the Catholic Church or the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie and its official teaching,” Rev. Man-Son-Hing said.
