Dineen signs with Oilers

Dineen was drafted by the Battalion in the 11th round in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection where he spent nearly three full seasons.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed former North Bay Battalion defenceman Cam Dineen to a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000, the team announced on Sunday.

Dineen was acquired by the Oilers from the Arizona Coyotes along with Nick Bjugstad on March 1.

The 24-year-old recorded two goals and 12 points in 19 games with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors after being acquired. In 69 total AHL games this season, Dineen has tallied six goals and 47 points, ranking sixth among all AHL defencemen.

He was originally selected in the third round (68th overall) by the Coyotes in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Dineen was drafted in the 11th round, 214th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection where he spent nearly three full seasons.  

In 2015-16, Dineen netted 13 goals and 46 assists for 59 points in 68 games with the Troops that season. 

The Toms River, New Jersey product then netted 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points in an injury-shortened 29 games. 

In 2017-18, Dineen registered 11 goals along with 25 assists for 36 points in 39 games. He was traded that season to the Sarnia Sting in January of 2018. With the Sting he finished off his junior hockey career with 9 goals and 19 assists in 26 games.
