The YMCA of North Bay has announced the name of the lucky winner who won the YMCA Strong Kids Raffle to win a Mediterranean cruise.

Debbey Bentley, of North Bay, will set sail with Mayne Travel Services and Princess Cruises after winning the 1st prize in the raffle, valued at $10,000. Dave Cerisano, also of North Bay, was the recipient of the 2nd prize, a YMCA Family Membership valued at $1,600.

The raffle was organized by the YMCA of North Bay in celebration of the 20th Annual Tim Hortons-YMCA Golf Classic, held Monday, August 13th at the North Bay Golf and Country Club. The winners were drawn at the conclusion of the event.

3,000 raffle tickets were available at a cost of $10 per ticket from December to August from YMCA and Tim Hortons volunteers.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, helping families who cannot afford the full cost of YMCA membership and programs to benefit from involvement at the YMCA.

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is supported with annual fundraising.

YMCA members, staff and volunteers share their resources so that those in need can benefit.

In 2011 more than 240 donors contributed $106,000 to help more than 1,600 individuals in North Bay.

Through the Strong Kids Campaign the YMCA of North Bay is able to create opportunities for community members to form relationships and have a sense of belonging and involvement.
