Death threat over social media results in arrest of Sturgeon Falls teen

Police have made an arrest after a 15-year-old was threatened over social media.

OPP say on October 7, at 10 a.m., Nipissing West officers responded to a report of a threatening incident in Verner.

Investigation revealed a young person threatened the 15-year-old victim over social media.

On the afternoon of October 8, officers located and arrested the teen. 

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old resident of Sturgeon Falls, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with "Uttering Threats - Cause Death."

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice - Youth Court, on November 4 in North Bay.
