Death by misadventure

Funeral services will be held today for a 22-year-old Canadore College student whose frozen body was found by police near his Four Mile Lake home.

Maxim Leveillee was first reported missing by his mother, who saw the back door of the house ajar.

The North Bay Police Service was called in, said Inspector Mark Montgomery.
Officers walked down a trail by the house and saw a pair of boots. When police followed the trail further they found Leveillee.

Police say Leveillee died of exposure, but still don’t know what compelled him to leave his house. Results of a toxicology tests are being awaited, Montgomery said, adding Leveillee died through misadventure.
