NORTH BAY, Ont. — The second day of action is in the books at the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling Boost National 2022 at Memorial Gardens.

Five men's teams remain unbeaten: Brad Gushue, Niklas Edin, Brendan Bottcher, Colton Flasch and Michael Brunner.

On Wednesday, Gushue defeated Kevin Koe 8-6, Edin edged Reid Carruthers 7-6, Bottcher edged Joel Retornaz 6-5, Flasch was a 10-4 winner over Mike McEwen and Brunner outscored defending champ Matt Dunstone 9-7.

In other men's games, Glenn Howard dropped to 0-2 after losing 7-6 to Marco Hosli, Corey Dropkin topped Ross Whyte 5-3, and Bruce Mouat was a 7-5 winner over Team Schwaller.

On the women's side, there are four unbeaten teams including Kerri Einarson, Satsuki Fujisawa, Silvana Tirinzoni and the Keiser team.

Einarson won 10-4 over Jennifer Jones who dropped to 1-1, Fujisawa was a 6-5 winner over Isabella Wrana, Tirinzoni doubled up Tabitha Peterson 6-3 and Team Keiser overcame Eun Ji Kim 7-6.

In other action, Rachel Homan improved to 1-1 with a 9-4 win over Hollie Duncan, Krista McCarville dropped to 0-2 after losing 7-3 to Eunjung Kim, Kaitlyn Lawes is 1-1 after beating  Daniela Jentsch 6-3 and  Anna Hasselborg improved her mark to 1-1 with 6-4 win over Chelsea Carey.

There are four more draws Thursday at 8:30 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Some of the featured matches include Matt Dunstone against Bruce Mouat, Anna Hasselborg vs Kaitlyn Lawes, a battle of unbeatens with Brendan Bottcher up against Brad Gushue, and Rachel Homan playing Jennifer Jones.
