Cyclist in fatal collision identified Update

The cyclist that was killed in the collision on Pinewood Park Dr on June 10th has been identified as; 49 year old Alan Dale Stewart from the Pembroke area. He had been staying with at a relative in North Bay for the past week. The investigation is continuing.

The cyclist fatally injured in the collision on June 10th has been identified. His identity will be withheld until the Next of Kin have been notified.

Further to the fatal bicycle, motor vehicle collision on 10th June; the motor vehicle involved was a Honda Pilot being driven by a 29year old woman who was the sole occupant.

The cyclist was wearing a dark military style combat coat, blue jeans and high top dark leather mukluks.

There was no artificial lighting in the area.

The investigation is continuing.

At 10:35 p.m. on the 10th June a man riding a bicycle northbound on Pinewood Park Dr between Morel Blvd and the North Bay City Limits was struck from behind by a northbound vehicle.

The man was taken to the North Bay Regional Health Centre but he succumbed to his injuries. The man had no identification on his person and his identity is not known at this time. There were no reflectors or lights on the bicycle and it was raining heavily at the time of the collision.

The O.P.P. Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit was contacted and is assisting in the investigation.


The cyclist is described as; middle aged, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall, 220 to 230lbs, with greying light brown hair.
