Crack cocaine charges

A North Bay man and woman face drug charges today after police staked out a downtown location Tuesday afternoon.

Police say shortly after 2:20 p.m., a man sold crack cocaine to a woman who was in a parked vehicle on Cassells Street and First Avenue.

They add that on two separate occasions on Monday, April 25th, 2016 he sold her crack cocaine at the same location.

Officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime unit arrested:

Philip Ray Hermans, 45 of North Bay and charged him with:

  • three counts of trafficking crack cocaine;
  • one count of possession of property obtained by crime; and
  • one count of breach of OIC undertaking. 

As a result of the investigation and search after the arrests, police seized a small quantity of crack cocaine and cash.

Police also arrested a 34-year old North Bay woman at the same location and time on Tuesday, April 26th and charged her with one count of possession of crack cocaine. She was released from custody with a court date scheduled June 7th, 2016.

Hermans was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
