Here's an important warning from the Bonfield Fire Department Facebook page

"Important notice! We have just been informed of a coyote-human encounter in the area of Maple Road and Webbs Rd, that happened yesterday (Wednesday). A man was attacked and received several bites from the coyote. Please be aware due to the increased activity of these predators."

Animal Control Officer Dennis Truchon told BayToday that he is investigating the report.

He says there have been a lot of coyote sighting but no more than usual. Truchon points out that they do live in the country and Algonquin Park isn't that far away.

BayToday has been unable to independently confirm the attack but will update the story as details become available.
