COVID spike. Eight new cases today, all from Parry Sound area

Parry Sound is the hot spot with 19 of the active cases there, compared to three in the North Bay district

The North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit reports eight new cases today, all from the Parry Sound district, with 22 cases now active.

The jump means the region has now recorded 371 cases.

Parry Sound is the hot spot with 19 of the active cases there, compared to three in the North Bay district.

As well, the Health Unit says the vaccination rate has topped 44 per cent.

The Timiskaming Health Unit reports 21 active cases.

The Sudbury Health Unit reports 12 new cases and 90 active. Most of Sudbury's cases have been in the 20-39 age bracket. 

Their current case count is 1,987.

The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit reports 75 new cases with 1,381 active cases. 

The total for that district is 10,773 however Huntsville accounts for only 118 of that number.
