Clinics are being cancelled due to low turnout.

The Health Unit said today it has cancelled three future COVID clinics because of a recent decrease in booked appointments.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit has cancelled the following clinics:

  • Monday, July 26 at Memorial Gardens in North Bay
  • Tuesday, July 27 at Memorial Gardens in North Bay
  • Tuesday, July 27 at Bobby Orr Community Centre in Parry Sound

"This allows the Health Unit to provide a wide variety of smaller clinics aimed to reach individuals who have had difficulty accessing mass immunization clinics," says a news release.

In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for Friday, July 23 at the West Nipissing Community Centre in West Nipissing will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rather than 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as originally scheduled. Walk-ins will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Health Unit reported one new case today bringing the total to 650 since the pandemic began. There are now 27 active cases, 25 in the Nipissing District. One is currently hospitalized.

As of today, 76 per cent of the over age 12 population have had at least one shot, and 62 per cent are fully vaccinated.
