COVID cases on uptick. Four new ones reported today

The North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit reports four new COVID cases today, bringing the total to 351 since the pandemic began. There are 16 active cases, nine in Nipissing and two of those are hospitalized.

The number of vaccinations has risen to 42,322 and that's 39 per cent of the over 18 population.

Today the Health Unit announced that it was taking bookings for those aged between 55-59.

And we have the lowest case rate in the entire province over the last reported seven-day period (April 17 to 23).

The Timiskaming Health Unit reports 36 active cases. See the latest video update here. 

The Sudbury Health Unit reports eight new cases today. and 79 active cases.

The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit reports 74 new cases today. and 1,372 active cases, that's up 69 since yesterday.

There have been 277 new cases reported to the health unit for the current week. There were 637 new cases reported to the health unit last week (week of April 18th), 11 per cent lower than the 715 cases reported for the week of April 11th.
