It seems the uproar over summer meeting times has caused city council to re-think its action.

Councillor Jeff Serran is presenting a motion this evening that will allow the group to do an ammendment.

"Whereas Section 34 of the City of North Bay’s Procedural By-Law gives Council the ability to revisit matters within one calendar year with the support of the majority of Council; And Whereas Council inadvertently made it harder for Cogeco Cable 12 to cover Council Meetings during the summer schedule, with the motion passed on July 11, 2016. Therefore Be It Resolved that Council use the "Rescission" section of the City of North Bay’s Procedural By-Law to revisit the July 11, 2016 Council decision regarding the Summer Schedule, at the next regularly scheduled meeting of Council."

"It's not an about-face decision," says Serran. "We are still doing the intent of the original motion - just starting at 6:30 p.m. if the motion passes in two weeks."
