Although depth and water content of the snow pack are growing throughout the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority watershed, their relationship to normal for this time of year varies.

Water content at the Corbeil Conservation Area snow survey station measures above normal. However, at the North Bay Golf and Country Club it has dropped to 75 percent of normal and at Shirley Skinner Conservation Area in Chisholm, it’s 79 per cent of normal. These numbers are not indicative of any impact on the 2013 spring freshet (snow melt) as there is plenty of winter weather ahead.

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and into spring of 2013. Data for the season can be found on the NBMCA website at www.nbmca.on.ca.
