ST. PAUL, MINN. - North Bay's Colton Point made 13 saves in relief of starter Landon Bow as the Dallas Stars edged the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in overtime in pre-season NHL action on Tuesday night.

Justin Dowling had the OT winner for the Stars, while starter Landon Bow made 18 saves and allowed the only goal against for the Stars.

Point's best stop came on a cross-crease one-timer by Wild defenceman Matt Dumba

Stars coach Jim Montgomery was impressed by what he saw in the two netminders

"Great game by our goaltenders," Montgomery said to NHL.com after watching the duo combine to stop 31 of 32 shots.

"Bow was incredible and then Point came in and was outstanding."

Point will likely have more opportunities to impress with the Stars playing four straight pre-season road game in advance of their home opener on October 3 against the Boston Bruins.

"I look at it as a great opportunity for them to leave a good impression on everybody in the organization's mind about the bright future we could have at the goaltending position," said Montgomery.

The top two of three will likely stick with the Stars AHL affiliate in Austin (Texas Stars) while the other goalie will be sent to the ECHL.
