Collision closed highway for six hours

OPP say they are still investigating a two-vehicle traffic accident yesterday that closed a local highway for six hours.

The accident, at approximately 9:50 a.m., took place at the intersection of Highway 630 and Homestead Road, Calvin Township.

A preliminary investigation showed that a northbound car was struck by a westbound car.  Three occupants of the northbound car, a 42 year old woman and two kids ages 9 and 12, were taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released. 

The single occupant of the westbound car, a 21 year old man, was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Highway 630 was closed for approximately 6 hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators completed their preliminary investigation.

Members of the North Bay OPP and the Calvin Township Fire and Emergency Services responded to the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
