To help make walking and cycling safer on Memorial Drive, the City of North Bay is encouraging pedestrians to use the sidewalk or the Kate Pace Way.

Recently-painted advisory lanes are intended for cyclists, particularly those travelling at high speed, and it is recommended that inline skaters, joggers and others travelling at slower speeds use the Kate Pace Way.

Cyclists and inline skaters are always encouraged to yield to people walking and sound a bell or call out before passing.

The City says users should also move off the pathway completely when stopping.
