City of North Bay
Five years ago the City of North Bay, through the support of the Government of Ontario’s Municipal Immigration Information Online (MIIO) Program, launched an online immigration portal www.northbayimmigration.ca .
This online resource was created to provide easy access to local information for prospective newcomers in order to help them succeed in their new home.
The portal continues to be the leading recruitment support tool in North Bay’s on-going recruitment efforts.
This year, the Municipal Immigration Information Online (MIIO) Program will provide the City of North Bay with $16,500 in new funding towards updating the portal’s content.
The City will continue to build on the successes of the project and feature five (5) new video profiles highlighting real stories from individuals and families who have decided to make the City of North Bay home.
This project has been made possible through the strong partnership between the City of North Bay and the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre with support of the North Bay Newcomer Network and their numerous dedicated volunteers.
“By investing in the North Bay MIIO Program, our government is insuring that Northern Municipalities are able to attract the best and brightest to meet local skill shortages. We are ensuring that the next generation of job creators chooses our province to do business, and more specifically, Northern communities.”
- Michael Coteau, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration
