City police throw drug dealers a 'fastball'

Drug raids result in arrests of four people

Dubbed "Project Fastball", the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit in conjunction with the Toronto Police Service Major Drug Section conducted an investigation into the drug trafficking of cocaine along the Highway11 corridor.

After completion of the investigation, a total of five Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrants on homes in North Bay as well in Toronto were conducted.

From these warrants the following items were seized:

  • 4 ounces of Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 1 ounce of Fentanyl powder
  • 981 grams of cocaine
  • 1.5 pounds of marijuana
  • $51,000 in Canadian currency.
  • 9mm handgun
  • two vehicles
  • approximately $5,000 worth of stolen property recovered

Police have charged Paul Philion, 35, of North Bay with:

  • Two counts of Trafficking in a controlled substance;
  • One count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Two counts of Breach of Probation.
  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of Stolen Property

Rory Persaud, 30, of Toronto with:

  • Possession of a Restricted Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Donald Killingsworth, 38, of North Bay with:

  • One count of Trafficking in a controlled substance;

Ashley Aro, 32, of North Bay with:

  • One count of Trafficking in a controlled substance;
