At 11:42am 4th September, missing person Lorraine Hickey was found by members of the North Bay Police Emergency Response Team in a bush area just north of Hwy 17 W and west of Gormanville Rd.

She was found lying down in a grassy area. She was wet, cold, but uninjured.

Her husband Phillip Hickey and the North Bay Police wish to thank Mr Kevin Elsey because he heard the media request this morning and remembered seeing a person last evening that fit the description. He attended police headquarters and then showed the officers exactly where he had last seen her. That area was searched and she was found within ½ a kilometre of that spot. We also wish to thank the media for their prompt coverage and all the citizens that called because of it.

The North Bay Police also wish to express our appreciation to the O.P.P. Canine and Marine Units, the Ministry of Natural Resources Canine Unit and BAYSAR all of who played a vital part in this investigation.

The North Bay police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Lorraine Hickey 55yrs of Callander Ont.

She suffers from Huntington disease and has been without her medication for over a week.

She walked away from the North Bay Regional Hospital yesterday at 4:15 pm and was last seen in the area of Hwy 17 and Gormanville Rd.

She is 5’6” tall, 130 lbs, brown shoulder length hair, wearing beige pants, rose coloured t-shirt, and white sandals with a flower on them.
