City police respond to 'Idle No More' demonstration at Northgate

On 20th Dec at 4:05pm North Bay Police responded to a disturbance at NorthGate Square.

It was alleged that approximately 200 aboriginal people had conducted a demonstration supporting the “Idle No More” movement in protest of Bill C-45.

The demonstration was loud with a drum beat and chanting.

When mall security attempted to stop it, an altercation occurred.

On arrival of police the crowd was dispersing and there was talk of assaults but no one would make an actual complaint.
