Staff at a local business assisted police in the recovery of a stolen car and the subsequent arrest of the car thief.

On 30th May staff at a McIntyre St business reported a strange vehicle parked in their underground parking lot. The vehicle had been stolen from a North Bay dealership a few days earlier and had licence plates on it that had been stolen from a separate location. The vehicle was towed by police for expert examination. At 1PM on the same day, a staff member observed a man with keys in his hand approach the area where the vehicle had been parked, then walk away from the area. The police were called and the staff member followed the suspect identifying him for police. The man was arrested on the 200 block of Worthington St W. The keys that the man had been carrying were for the stolen vehicle and a search of the vehicle trunk found the man’s identification.

Edouard Richard Baril 49yrs of commercial St was charged with 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property and Theft Under $5000.00. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
