City man charged with theft of auto and dangerous driving

On Dec 7th at 3:20am, a 20yr old male stole his grandmother’s vehicle and drove into the downtown core with it.

The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot at Main and Fisher Sts when family members attended and one man attempted to remove the rear plate.

The driver reversed the vehicle and the man had to jump out of the way to prevent being run over.

The vehicle was then driven forward and a female family member had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

The vehicle was then driven at a high rate of speed, north on Fisher St. At 3:38 am the police located the vehicle and driver back at the location of the theft.

He was arrested and charged with theft of auto and 2 counts of dangerous driving.
