The City of North Bay and Chair of the Engineering and Works Council Committee, Councillor Tanya Vrebosch are pleased to announce that North Bay City employee Alan Korell has been awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for his dedication to the North Bay community and his leadership in the field of civic engineering, as well as his distinguished service to Canada.

Alan Korell is the City’s Managing Director of Engineering, Environmental Services and Works. He has shown great leadership and initiative throughout his years of service with the City, and he is held in high esteem by Council, City staff, and the North Bay community. “Mr. Korell is a valued member of our staff,” stated Mayor Al McDonald. “We are so pleased that he was recognized for his work and dedication to making our city a better place to live.”

He has also represented the interests of the City and Northern Ontario on numerous Provincial Boards and panels, most recently serving as Past President of Ontario Good Roads Association.

Alan will receive the Diamond Jubilee medal on Thursday, January 17th in Toronto. The City is proud of his achievement, and the North Bay community is invited to join us in congratulating him on being the recipient of this most prestigious award.
