City of North Bay crews will continue their efforts in removing snow banks from area streets.

But their strategy has changed.

Portions of the city have already been cleared including the metered parking areas of Main, McIntyre Worthington along with stretches on other major arteries including Fisher, Algonquin First and Second Avenues.

"With less snow so far this winter compared to previous years, the City has changed its strategy for completing removals," the City stated on its website.

"Instead of using contractors to conduct blitzes over two-week periods between midnight and 8 a.m., City crews have been working daily starting at 4 a.m. to remove snow from main arteries followed by collectors and side streets, as traffic volumes increase."

This week crews have been focussing on Cassells High Street and a portion of O'Brien.

Operations will continue Monday on O’Brien.

Trout Lake Road is the focus next Tuesday and Wednesday.

That will be followed by McIntyre on Thursday and Worthington next Friday.

A variety of other streets will be worked on when traffic increases on the major arteries.

Officials say the snow removal schedule can be impacted by weather and dates may change.
