Children seriously hurt in rollover

A family of four was injured in a rollover early Monday morning. Further details are included in the following news release issued by the Ontario Provincial Police, North Bay detachment:

OPP North Bay and the Callander Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle collision that took place just after midnight (12:30 a.m. Monday August 23rd, 2004) that sent a family of four to hospital.

Glorianne Papolis, 42, of North Bay, was driving a Brown 1997 Chevorlet Blazer northbound on Highway 11 approximately 1.4 Km north of the Highway 654 exit, Callender, Ontario. Her vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a guard rail on the east side of Highway 11, rolled over several times landing in the center median on the west side of the highway. Glorianne suffered minor injuries and was sent to North Bay General Hospital along with her two children, six-year-old Natalie Papolis and three-year-old Thomas Papolis. Their injuries are considered serious. Angelo Papolis, 55, was also sent to hospital with minor injuries.

An OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (TTCI) from the North East Region Traffic and Marine Unit attended the scene and assisted North Bay OPP. The collision is still under investigation.
