Chairman William Ferguson has announced that North Bay city council has appointed Judy Kleinhuis as an at-large community member for the next three years.

Kleinhuis, a past director and treasurer for the North Bay and District Humane Society, has lived in the city for the past eight years.

Ferguson said that with the difficult financial issues facing the board "and Ms. Kleinhuis's skill set, she will be a wonderful addition to the strong board we already have."

Chief George Berrigan said Kleinhuis has a sterling reputation as a community volunteer because of her work at the Humane Society.

"I look forward to working with her."
