Lieutenant-Colonel (Lt.-Col.) Michel Roy relinquished command of the Wing Administration and Technical Services (WATS) Branch to Lt.-Col. Eric Cyr during a ceremony presided by Colonel Henrik Smith, 22 Wing Commander and witnessed by members of 22 Wing and local dignitaries during a ceremony on Tuesday at 22 Wing.  

Lt.-Col Cyr, a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years, accepted his new role as WATSO, and addressed over one hundred members of the WATS Branch.

“The WATS Branch is intimately involved in everything that 22 Wing does on the base and in the community,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Michel Roy, Departing WATSO, 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay.

“Without the professionalism and dedication of the WATS Branch 22 Wing would not be able to accomplish the NORAD mission conducted by men and women of the Canadian Air Defence Sector.”

“Lieutenant-Colonel Roy has described the WATS Branch as a team of diverse professionals made up of Regular Force, Reserve Force, United States Air Force, public service employees, Non-Public Fund employees and contractors,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Cyr, Incoming WATSO, 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay.”

“I am counting on everyone’s ability to work as a team and will continue to tap into their knowledge and varied skills critical to the success of our mission at 22 Wing.”
