CEO gets a clean shave for a very worthy cause

'So between Thursday afternoon and this morning we raised $713 so our team is well underway and we are very excited about relay for life this year'

Cassellholme CEO Jamie Lowery has a new look on Monday afternoon.

In front of a crowd of around 20 people in the Casselholme lobby, the boss sat patiently while his salt and pepper locks were shaved from his head.

Lowery along with Guy St. Louis, from the maintenance department, offered up a clean shave if the workers could raise enough money to make it worthwhile.

The idea was the brainchild of Tracy Davis, a Chaplin at Casselholme.  Davis, who is the Chair of Relay for Life, felt this was a great way to start raising money for the event which is a well known Cancer research fundraiser.

“We formed a team for Cassellholme for relay for life this year and our team name is ‘Cassellholmies’ and we put out a challenge to the staff team on Thursday afternoon to see if we could raise $300 to cut Guy’s hair and Jamie said if you raise $500 we could shave his head as well,” explained Davis who was responsible for doing the majority of head shaving Monday afternoon.

“So between Thursday afternoon and this morning we raised $713 so our team is well underway and we are very excited about relay for life this year.”

Davis hopes this March event is a good fundraising start for the event which will take place at CFB North Bay on June 21st.
