All that work taking place on the North Bay bypass is going smoothly according to the MTO, but you'll notice a big change this week as traffic gets rerouted to allow work to enter another stage.

The objective is to improve the pavement condition, ride quality, safety and operational characteristics along this section of Highway 11

Starting tomorrow construction on the stretch between Seymour Street and the Lakeshore Drive interchange will change to the northbound lanes.

Northbound traffic will be diverted from the northbound lane into the southbound lane, which will be down to a single lane. Posted speed will continue to be reduced to 80 km/h.

It is expected that this traffic configuration will be in place until October 27th.

To date, completed work on this project includes culvert replacements, rehabilitation and paving of southbound lanes and rehabilitation work on ramps at Lakeshore Drive.

Work this week includes paving of median crossovers.

"The work remaining includes culvert replacements, rehabilitation and paving of northbound lanes and rehabilitation work on ramps at the Highway 11/17 interchange," MTO Media Advisor Lara Cantin told BayToday. "The project is on schedule and work is expected to be complete by mid November.
