Cardinal TV series is recognized again in Canadian Screen Awards

The fourth and final season of the show filmed in North Bay just finished airing earlier in May

The awards continue to pile up for the well-known TV series Cardinal which was filmed in North Bay.

Cardinal captured seven Canadian Screen Awards in Wednesday’s virtual ceremony.

That was the most awards for any single show on the night.

Along with the show winning Best Drama, Karine Vanasse won Best Actress in a drama series and Billy Campbell took home Best Actor, which is the second straight year they have won the lead acting accolades.   

Kristen Thomson won for best supporting actress in a drama series.

Cardinal also won Best Writing, Best Achievement in Make-Up and Best Picture Editing.

Last night’s awards honoured the Drama series' third season.

During season three, Detectives Cardinal and Delorme pursue their most dangerous adversaries yet: an ex-soldier and her doomsday cult ‘family’ of damaged street kids, Cardinal also begins a secret investigation into his wife’s shocking death. As the detectives track the killers and the body count climbs, their personal doubts and fears threaten their bond as partners.

The fourth and final season of the show just finished airing earlier this May. 

Cardinal won seven Canadian Screen Awards last year and six the year before.
