Capitol Centre’s Children’s Festival returns

This year’s event will run concurrently with North Bay’s inaugural Bay Days festival

For the fourth year in a row, the Capitol Centre’s Children’s Festival returns to kick off summer June 14 – 16, with three days of children’s entertainment and activities. This year’s event will run concurrently with North Bay’s inaugural Bay Days festival.

Friday, June 14, the Festival launches with at 6:30 with Michael Mitchell, an award-winning Canadian singer, songwriter, and storyteller. Michael is the former co-host of CTV children’s program Story Time and has written and recorded songs for Sesame Street and PBS. Michael is now one of the most in-demand school performers in Canada!

Saturday, June 15 is jam-packed with fun activities for the whole family from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Children will enjoy live, singalong music with the Ukelele Club, a Fringe Festival puppet show, musical petting zoo, Drag Queen Storytime, inflatable fun, magic acts, live entertainment, giant board games, mascots and more! The Capitol Centre will be filled with music, dance, and art. Speaking of art, the WKP Kennedy Gallery will host a special Slime Party, craft activities, and postcard making that will be displayed this Fall.

Sunday, June 16 The Children’s Festival comes to a close with a free showing of The Lego Movie 2 at 2 p.m. on the biggest screen in North Bay.

All events take place indoors at the Capitol Centre and tickets go on sale Tuesday, May 21.
