In order to get their ducks in a row for the official public launch of the 2013 ‘Relay for Life’ the team at the Canadian Cancer Society met with members of the media this week to share a few details.

CCS Manager Andrew Layne says it is never too early to start planning for the Relay and this year topping their list was the introduction of the new event chair Anthony Rota (Pictured above with daughter Sam during the June, 2004 survivor's lap).

Layne says media outlets have been the key to the success of the event and keeping everyone up to date helps make the event the success it continues to be.

Rota, a two time cancer survivor, says he is looking forward to building on what is already a premier event in the city and encourages everyone to build or join a team to come out and experience the magic.

Layne says they look forward to sharing with the public the details for the 2013 Relay for Life February 21st at noon at the Northgate Shopping Centre.
