Canada beats Denmark to remain unbeaten

Canada and Sweden remain the only undefeated teams.

Team Canada scored four in the eighth end this morning to beat Denmark 10-5 at the Ford World Women's Curling at Memorial Gardens.

Team Canada broke open a tight game by scoring their quadruple for their fifth win of the event.

“I think it is just about being patient and we try to capitalize on our opportunities and we had a couple opportunities in that end. Dawn (McEwan) set us up amazingly that end and it worked out,” said Team Canada Second Jill Officer after the win.

“Going into the 8th end we were happy to score, a deuce would have been great, but obviously we will take four and handshakes.”

After that, it was handshake time for the two teams. Teams must play a minimum of six ends.

Canada now moves to 5-0 in the tournament and is tied with Sweden in first place.

Canada next faces Scotland tonight at 7 p.m.
