We don't know why someone would even want to do this, but apparently, a person is making calls pretending to be a Health Unit employee.
"The Health Unit is warning the public about a scam we became aware of this morning," says a release. "A concerned member of the public called the Health Unit to inquire about a call they received to participate in a phone survey from the Health Unit. The caller, pretending to be a Health Unit employee, asked questions about their COVID-19 status, pets, and the number of people in the home."
The Health Unit is currently not conducting a survey specific to COVID-19.
If you receive a suspicious call, do not share personal information, and contact your local police to report it suggests the Unit.
