Callander fireworks this Saturday

It's always a highly anticipated event, and after high water levels forced cancellation of the fireworks during Canada Day celebrations, the event is being made part of another popular event.

Callander’s firefighters are getting ready to give it all at the community’s renowned annual fireworks show. The conditions are now back to normal and the fireworks are scheduled to be the grand finale at the Sirens in the Park event in Centennial Park this Saturday.

“It makes perfect sense to do the fireworks during Sirens in the Park. Lots of people will visit the event throughout the day and there will be a movie in the park at dusk.  A spectacular firework display at the end of the program will be an added bonus”, said Callander’s Fire Chief, Todd Daley.

Sirens in the Park will take place at Callander’s waterfront, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

There will be vehicle tours throughout the day, bouncy castles, food concession, and an auto extrication demonstration. The park will transform into an outdoor movie theatre at dusk as Zootopia is showcased on the big screen.

The fireworks will follow immediately after the movie, weather permitting. The focus of this annual event is to promote fire safety and to show the equipment that keeps Callander safe.

Updates on the fireworks show can be found at the Municipality’s Facebook Page.

Dress appropriately. The weather forecast Saturday calls for cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high 24.
