Cab fares in the city could be on the way up after the North Bay Police Services Board increased fees the taxi industry must pay to the board.

Chief Paul Cook said one of his sargeants is preparing a report looking at taxi fares in other municipalities, and he will then call a meeting with local cab representatives to discuss the matter.

Potential fare increases will be discussed during the meeting Cook said.
