Former North Bay Mayor Jack Burrows will be named by the Northern Shores Children’s Treatment Center’s Board of Directors as the Honorary Fundraising Chair for North Bay at the Rotary Club of North Bay meeting, 12.00 p.m., at the Legion.

The children’s treatment center itself is proposed to be built adjacent to the new North Bay Regional Hospital and will provide local children and their parents access to special medical therapies and services they would otherwise have to travel to Toronto or Ottawa for.

Tanya Dubeau, one of the initiating parents in bringing the CTC to North Bay, and Board Chair Marg Hughes, will both be addressing Rotary on Monday about Northern Shores and its progress to date.

Rotary will be hosting a roast and dinner in Jack Burrows name as Honorary Fundraising Chair, March 26 at the Best Western Hotel with an auction of a number of dinner parties, in support of the CTC.

In a related development Hughes announced Wednesday the appointment of Judy Sharpe as interim executive director of the treatment centre.
