Break and Enter leads to charges

 A 40-year-old man is facing a number of charges in connection to a break and enter that took place around 9 a.m. on Thursday. 

The North Bay Police responded to a call of an unknown man inside a residence on the south end of the city.  

“She asked the man to leave and he complied. The female victim realized that some items were missing and notified the police of what had occurred including a description of the man and the stolen property,” stated Special Constable John Schultz in a release.  

“Later in the day police attended an unrelated call at a Lakeshore Drive location and the accused, who matched the description, was located there. He was questioned and subsequently arrested. During a search police identified property belonging to the victim as well as 0.1 grams of methamphetamine.”  

As a result of the investigation police charged 40-year-old Waylon Edward of no fixed address with:  

  • One count of break and enter;
  • One count of possession of break in tools
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; and
  • One count of Possession of a schedule one substance.
The man was later released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse in answer to the charges on February 19th, 2019.
