An update on Brad Martin, a local man who was seriously injured when he was involved in a horrific collision while riding his motorcycle after a vehicle crossed in front him on Lakeshore Drive. Martin has been hospitalized for months at a time since.

The Martin family and Brad's business, Allmakes Auto Service Plus, have been keeping supporters apprised of Brad's successes and setbacks in his recovery via the business Facebook page. Thursday was a day for good news, as an announcement was made asking well-wishers to attend a welcome home party for Brad on Sunday, July 16, at noon.

"Exactly ten months after the accident Bradley will be released from Toronto rehabilitation center after receiving amazing care at the brain injury program. We are also happy to pass along that once released Brad is headed home for good to wake up each morning in his own bed," reads the post.

There have been several swings in Martin's health over the months since the events of Sept. 14, 2016, that have changed the lives of the Martin family forever. The family has received an outpouring of support from the community, and the gestures have not gone unnoticed by Brad's wife, Tessie.

The crew from Allmakes also thanked "the medical professionals who helped make Brad's recovery as miraculous as it has been. Without the support of all of the fine folks in Sudbury Toronto and of course here at home in North Bay, we would be nowhere near where we are."
