Booze a factor in rollover

A 50-year-old man has been charged after a vehicle rolled Sunday night in Nipissing Township.

Powassan OPP was dispatched to the accident, which took place on Marion Drive around 6 p.m.

Police said a the man was the only occupant in a black 1988 Dodge Dakota pickup truck.

The man was driving westbound on a snow-covered roadway when his vehicle slipped over an embankment on the north side of Marion Drive.

The truck rolled over into a creek coming to rest on its roof, and the driver received minimal injuries from the collision. Police discovered that alcohol was involved and charged the driver with impaired driving.

Richard Degagne, of Nipissing Township, will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 360 Plouffe Street, North Bay, Ontario on Tuesday, Jan. 18
