Dr. Jim Chirico, Medical Officer of Health, has lifted the Boil Water Advisory only for homes in Verner north of the Veuve River.

A drinking water advisory will be in place for houses south of the Veuve River until a section of pipe is replaced and water sampling is completed.

For homes north of the Veuve River, two consecutive sets of drinking water samples were tested and all results were satisfactory.

Those who are in this area and are residential users of the community’s water supply are advised to run each of their cold water taps for one minute on first time use to remove any sediment.

Large volume users are advised to run cold water taps for two minutes on first time use.

Until further notice, homes in Verner south of the Veuve River should not use the water from the tap for drinking, making juice and infant formula, cooking, making ice, washing uncooked fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth.

For these purposes, an alternate source of water, such as bottled water, should be used. Boiling the water will not correct this situation.
