Body of missing Lake Nipissing boater found

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit have recovered the body of a West Nipissing man reported missing yesterday afternoon on Lake Nipissing.

He's been identified as 63-year-old Leo Perron.

On May 26, at 1:40 p.m., Nipissing West OPP along with the OPP Emergency Response Team and Sudbury OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement unit responded to the sighting of a boat in Lake Nipissing with no operator.

Today at approximately 11:50 a.m., the OPP USRU recovered the body from the lake.

A post mortem examination of the deceased is scheduled.

The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
