Beach goers are enjoying a new gazebo that has officially opened this summer on the western shores of Trout Lake.

Angie Boulet has been bringing her sons to the Armstrong Park/Olmsted Beach location for years.

She says the gazebo is a welcome addition to the park.

“I think it's beautiful and adds a cozy feel to the park,” she said.

“I also think it's a great idea for those who'd like to have a family picnic without heading down to the (Lake Nipissing) water-front.”

The gazebo is located at the southeast corner of the park adjacent to the North Bay Canoe Club.

The funding for the new Armstrong Park structure came in part from a large donation back in 2013 from the Chan Armstrong Estate.  Chan Armstrong, who passed away in 2011, was a former C.A.O. for the City of North Bay.
