The City of North Bay Parks Department has removed three willow trees along Memorial Drive at Regina Street.

These trees had reached the end of their lifespan and had suffered significant damage during the recent wind storms.

"They became a safety risk with their proximity to the lakefront walking path," said Melinda Fry, Manager of Sports and Events. "Suitable replacement trees will be planted in the spring of 2019."

The interlocking brick pathway located in the same area along Memorial Drive is currently being straightened out where it was detoured around the willow trees.

This work is expected to take place during the next week, depending on the weather.
