After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, the North Bay Real Estate Board is bringing back the Bay Block Party,
The event will be held on Saturday, August 27 on Main Street.
"This returning festival is focused on showcasing the best of North Bay’s downtown while encouraging collaboration between community groups in order to offer something for everyone," says a news release. "Building on the success of the 2019 event, Downtown North Bay will be once again partnering with the North Bay Real Estate Board to offer FoodFest."
Various food trucks and local restaurants will be onsite with a variety of different options for attendees to experience.
“This free entry, single day event is geared to all ages. There will be local bands, craft breweries, wineries, distilleries and family-friendly activities, all being offered downtown on Main Street," explained Ryan Humble, President of the North Bay Real Estate Board. "We couldn’t be more excited to be back and offering an opportunity for the community to come together after two years of being apart”
This year’s headlining band is Dwayne Gretzky, a "curated nostalgia trip that captures the unique joy of turning a radio dial and being surprised by the familiar."
The 10-piece band brings to life the greatest songs of all time.
"This talented group of Toronto musicians ignites audiences with their charm, fidelity and theatrical flair. Dwayne Gretzky continues to shatter conventions and bring people together in a celebration of the songs we all forgot we loved," says the release.
“Having a band like Dwayne Gretzky perform in North Bay will be really appealing to attendees, they’re high energy and will make people want to dance in the streets” added Kate Ricci, Co-Chair of the Bay Block Party Committee.
“There are a lot of community groups that have expressed interest in being involved for 2022 and that will only make the event better. We will be announcing more details on the artists scheduled for the event, beer vendors, children’s activities and more in the coming weeks” said Humble.
