Two city residents are in custody after the North Bay Police Service responded to a call at 1:30 this morning concerning alleged assaults with baseball bats that had taken place within a West Ferris residence.

Service responded to a call at 1:30 this morning concerning alleged assaults with baseball bats that had taken place within a West Ferris residence.

Constables Mel Prevost and Jason Long investigated and subsequently charged Jay WEIR, 35, and Tiffany KNAPTON, 24, both of Whitney Avenue, with assault with a weapon and assault.

Both are to appear in court on Nov. 29.

THEFT OF AUTO
Overnight Nov. 22 thieves stole a 1994 green Chrysler Concord from the lot at Kia Motors on Main Street in North Bay. This vehicle did not have plates.

ATTEMPTED BREAK AND ENTER
On Nov. 23 during daytime hours would-be thieves attempted to force their way into a garage at a home in the 900 block of O’Brien Street.

A lawn chair was used to gain access to smash a window. The would-be thief then tried to cut into plywood behind the window. This was unsuccessful and entry was not gained.
