The North Bay Police Service is investigating the discovery of a card skimmer and a video system attached to an ATM at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, on Main Street W.

The discovery was made by a male customer Saturday night when he noticed something suspicious at the bank machine.

He contacted the police, and Cst. Paul Brewer located the skimmer and a pinhole camera attached to one of the machines.

Brewer also noticed a garbage can sitting on the floor, and discovered it contained a remote video camera recorder and receiver to record images from the pinhole camera.

The police service is cautioning the public to be vigilant whenever conducting financial transactions due to the advent of small cameras.
